The famous Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam celebrated the grand conclusion of its annual Dasara festivities on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Thousands of devotees gathered at the holy shrine to witness the final day rituals, which ended with the breathtaking Teppotsavam float festival on the temple water tank. The entire temple town was filled with spiritual energy as priests performed ancient Vedic ceremonies to seek divine blessings. Board members and senior officials joined pilgrims in witnessing these traditional grand offerings.

What Happened?

The final day of the Vijayadashami celebrations was marked by intense devotion and traditional rituals at the sacred temple. Priests conducted the solemn 'Chandi Homam', 'Rudra Homam', and 'Jayadi Homams' across sacrificial pavilions within the complex. The holy 'Purnahuti' marking the conclusion was performed at the 'Yagashala' of both Goddess Bhramaramba and Lord Mallikarjuna. Sacred offerings including fresh coconuts, aromatic herbs, and fine new garments were offered into the holy fire according to strict scriptural guidelines. Sanctified water from the primary 'Kalashas' was then ceremoniously offered to the presiding deities.

During the day, the processional deity of the Goddess was adorned in her majestic form as Sri Bhramaramba Devi. The idol was beautifully decorated with eight arms holding traditional weapons such as the trident, dagger, mace, sword, bow, shield, and heavy iron club. In the evening, the processional deities were carried out on the majestic 'Nandi Vahanam' through the temple surroundings. Devotees also participated in the sacred 'Shami Puja' near the holy 'Shami' tree inside the temple premises to celebrate the spirit of Vijayadashami.

The highlight of the night was the magical 'Teppotsavam' held at the temple tank, known as the 'Pushkarini'. A grand float decorated with thousands of colorful flowers and brilliant electric lights carried the deities across the calm water. Temple leadership including Board Chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu and Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao attended the event. Participating priests and scholars were honored with sacred garments and laddu prasadam, bringing the grand multi-day Dasara celebration to a peaceful close.
