What Happened?

The dynamic trailer opens with an emotional look into the lead character's internal struggles, showing her dealing with self-doubt, loss of hope, and personal hardship. However, the story takes an uplifting turn as she bounces back to lead her Tamasha troupe to greatness. Shraddha Kapoor channels her own Marathi heritage to portray the iconic dancer, showcasing a powerful screen presence, intense dramatic moments, and graceful dance moves set to authentic folk beats. The crisp trailer editing is perfectly matched with a high-energy, pulsating background score composed by the popular musical duo Ajay-Atul.

Beyond Shraddha Kapoor, 'Eetha' features an impressive star cast that adds great depth to this historical narrative. The movie stars acclaimed actors Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Randeep Hooda, and Anant Joshi in crucial roles. Notably, the film also features veteran actor Nana Patekar in a special posthumous performance, making it an emotional viewing experience for film lovers across the country. The production team at Maddock Films has spared no effort in creating a visually rich depiction of Maharashtra's historic Tamasha culture.

The film is inspired by Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, a pioneering artist born into a family of traditional Tamasha performers. From an early age, she dedicated her life to singing, dancing, and theatrical acting. Through her immense talent, she rose to national fame and earned the respectful title of 'Tamasha Samradni' or the Empress of Tamasha. She received Presidential honours for her incredible contribution to Indian folk arts. Despite facing severe financial hardship and societal pressures, she dedicated her entire life to preserving traditional art and helping her fellow performers.

Biographical films about real-life unsung heroes play a vital role in preserving regional heritage and cultural history. Vithabai Narayangaonkar was not just a successful performer, but a resilient pioneer who fought poverty and social barriers to keep traditional art forms alive. Bringing her inspiring story to mainstream Indian cinema allows younger generations across the country to learn about the rich history of Maharashtra's Tamasha and Lavani dance traditions.

For mainstream audiences, 'Eetha' offers an empowering story of female strength, artistic passion, and cultural pride. By celebrating local folk traditions on a large scale, the film helps bridge the gap between traditional folk arts and modern cinema.
