Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has found himself in fresh legal trouble after the Delhi Police registered a First Information Report against him. The legal action comes after an official complaint was lodged by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee regarding an alleged ruckus at the historic Bangla Sahib Gurdwara in New Delhi. The management committee accused several senior leaders and lawmakers from the party of engaging in political activities and creating chaos inside the sacred shrine. This fresh controversy has triggered a major political confrontation between the ruling party in Delhi and political opponents.

What Happened?

According to the official complaint filed by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, several Aam Aadmi Party leaders and members of the legislative assembly gathered inside the gurdwara premises to conduct a protest. The committee alleged that these protesters raised political slogans inside the sacred area, which severely disrupted the peaceful religious environment. They further stated that the party misused the sanctity of the holy site for political gains. The committee also accused the party leaders of sharing misleading and fake videos on social media platforms to blame the gurdwara management for the commotion.

Following the official complaint, the Delhi Police launched a formal investigation into the entire matter. Police officials confirmed that they are currently examining video footage provided by the gurdwara management committee to identify all individuals involved in the incident. Authorities stated that they will investigate who organized and directed the crowd to enter the premises. The police assured the public that strict legal action would be taken against those found guilty of violating public order and hurting religious sentiments.

In response to the serious accusations, the Aam Aadmi Party strongly denied all the charges. Senior party spokesperson Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal blamed the Delhi Police for entering the gurdwara premises and violating its holy sanctity. The party demanded the immediate resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, holding him responsible for the police department's conduct. AAP leaders further claimed that the actions of the police brought back painful historical memories, accusing political rivals of displaying hypocrisy regarding issues concerning the Sikh community.

This incident highlights the growing concern among citizens about political parties using sacred places for political point-scoring, which can disturb social harmony in the city.

Furthermore, this development adds another layer of tension in the nation's capital ahead of crucial political events.
