The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is preparing to release the official exam schedule for the ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 examinations for 2027. Students across India and abroad can expect the complete date sheet after November 12, 2026, following a crucial board meeting. Along with the schedule, the board is also considering a major change in daily examination timings. This announcement brings important updates for millions of students, parents, and school teachers preparing for the upcoming academic assessment.

What Happened?

A senior official from CISCE recently confirmed that the examination committee will hold a key meeting on November 12, 2026. During this meeting, members will finalize the official release date for the Class 10 and Class 12 exam timetables. Last year, the board published the date sheet on November 13, so students can expect a similar timeline this year. Once approved, the full timetable will be uploaded to the official portal at cisce.org for quick public access.

In addition to finalizing the schedule, the board is planning a notable change in the daily exam schedule. Officials hinted that exams might start an hour earlier than usual starting next year. Instead of beginning at 11:00 AM, the papers could commence at 10:00 AM. A formal decision on this time shift will be announced soon along with the complete schedule release.

Students will need to download their admit cards a few days prior to the start of the exams. According to board officials, the hall tickets will be available on the official website three to four days before the examinations begin. Candidates will need to log in using their application number and date of birth to access their digital admit cards. School authorities will also guide students through the verification process to ensure all details are correct.

Why Does This Matter?

The release of the exam schedule is a major event for lakhs of students preparing for board exams. Having the exact dates early helps students create structured study plans and manage their revision timelines effectively. Knowing subject dates well in advance reduces stress and gives families enough time to prepare for travel or study arrangements. The clarity brings relief to candidates working hard to achieve high scores.

The proposed shift to an earlier 10:00 AM start time is also significant for students and parents. Moving the start time earlier helps students finish their papers sooner in the day, leaving more time for afternoon rest and preparation. However, it also means students must adjust their morning routines and travel plans to reach exam centers on time. Schools and families will need to adapt to these new timings once the final confirmation is made.
